To the staff of KCCI:

On behalf of the membership and board of directors of the Iowa Broadcast News Association, I write to share our shock and grief at the passing of Michelle Parker.

While we have lost a professional colleague, you have all lost a member of the NewsChannel 8 family, and Central Iowa viewers have lost a trusted friend who will be sorely missed.

How fitting that on her last weekend in this life on Earth, Michelle was recognized by both the Associated Press and IBNA for excellence in reporting, telling the type of story for which she was well known.
