corporation of radio-TV news directors, reporters,
producers, public relations professionals and others
from Iowa and its adjacent states, working together to
improve electronic media news for our stations and the
public. Members can take advantage of the following:

members can get free answers to questions concerning
open meetings, public records, and court proceedings.
IBNA is also a First Amendment Member of the Iowa
Freedom of Information Council.
AWARDS:
IBNA recognizes outstanding
work done by its members. During the annaul IBNA convention,
an awards banquet is held to honor news reports in several
categories. IBNA also awards the Jack
Shelley Award, given to someone who has made substantial
contributions to electronic media journalism in Iowa.
Money raised through the contest is used to support IBNA
activities.

IBNA is committed to helping aspiring electronic media
journalists. Each year at the annual convention, the IBNA
Grant Price Scholarship for $1,000 is awarded to a student
from one of Iowa's colleges or universities.
PUBLICATIONS: the
IBNA Newsletter is published quarterly and contains
association news, trends in the industry, new product
information, editorials and more. The Directory is
published annually and contains listings of all radio
and TV stations in Iowa, plus news reference materials.
GET INVOLVED: The
major event for IBNA is its spring
convention, a time for electronic media journalists
and others from across the state to gather and discuss
issues, get performance tips, socialize and meet newsmakers.
Active members vote on issues brought up at the annual
meeting and elect members to serve on the IBNA Board of
Directors.
